Race Villages

The race villages are the nerve centre of the Cape Outback and the recharge zone for riders.

What can you expect in the race villages?:
Entertainment Hub: All riders will enjoy access to the Entertainment Hub with a bar and relaxation area.

Dinner tent: Dinner is served each evening at the dinner tent and all briefings are done here immediately after dinner.

Medical Tent: A team of medical personnel will be ready to attend to any medical matters that might arise. Mobile paramedics will also be patrolling the route during each stage.

Duesouth Recovery Zone: A team of friendly and professional masseurs under the leadership of biokinetisist Susan Viljoen will be standing by at the DueSouth Recovery Zone to bring relief to aching bodies. Pre-bookings are advised. Timeslots for pre-booked packages can be requested at registration.

Helderberg Cycle World Tech Zone:
The technical backup partner of the Cape Outback is the team from Helderberg Cycle World. They can attend to most mechanical breakdowns as well as bike servicing. They also offer pre-booked bike maintenance packages for the duration of the expedition. The HCW Tech Zone also includes the complimentary bike wash service at the end of each stage as well as a complimentary secure bike park facility.

Ablution facilities: All the shower- and toilet facilities expected from an event like this will be available at each race village.

Accommodation: Each rider has his/her own 2-person tent with a comfortable mattress. A list of accommodation facilities for supporters will be posted on this website. Supporters with Supporter Passports will have the option of free self service camping at each race village.
Luggage: Riders' luggage will be transported between race villages in the official Cape Outback tog bag. Only official tog bags (without any strapped on extras!) will be transported.
